Weston S. Montrose is the Managing Member of Arizona Injury Law Group PLLC, a State Bar-Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law with over 15 years of specialty designation, and recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® as the 2027 “Lawyer of the Year” for Workers’ Compensation Law – Claimants in Phoenix. He devotes his practice almost exclusively to representing injured workers throughout Arizona, navigating complex claims from initial injury filings through litigation and appeals. Weston also consults with and represents employers facing intricate workers’ compensation disputes and defense litigation.

Weston’s depth of experience provides his clients with a distinct advantage. Before entering private practice representing injured workers in 2007, he served as a staff attorney for the Industrial Commission of Arizona (ICA), where he provided legal guidance to state agencies and prosecuted OSHA safety and discrimination violations. His early legal career includes extensive trial experience in personal injury and criminal defense. Additionally, as a former small business owner, Weston brings practical insight into employment, contracts, marketing, and commercial economics to every legal matter.

  • Impact: Weston presented the winning oral argument in a landmark international business case that resulted in a published decision petitioned to the United States Supreme Court. The ruling established that Arizona’s workers’ compensation law is not preempted by NAFTA or the U.S. Constitution’s Commerce Clause. The precedent guarantees that cross-border workers, specifically Mexican National commercial drivers injured in Arizona while transporting goods, are entitled to full Arizona workers’ compensation benefits.

Personal Life

Beyond the courtroom, Weston is an avid outdoorsman and global explorer. He was married in Greece, honeymooned in Egypt, trekked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and has summitted Mt. Whitney, Mt. Rainier, and Mt. Kilimanjaro. He is also an active squash player, paddleboarder, pinball enthusiast, and a passionate supporter of art, music, and literature.
